ROR Summer 2010 Challenge



Summer '10 Reading Challenge List

It's that time again! Here is your list for the Summer '10 (June, July, August) Reading Challenge!
RULES:
1. Select ANY number of books to read that fit the category.
2. Post your list on the discussion board and blog (Name’s Winter 09 Challenge List)
3. If you need title suggestions please use the Discussion titled WINTER TITLE SUGGESTIONS if you don't see it please search (to try and minimize number of discussions)
4. Once you have read a book please find the corresponding discussion by searching you can search by 09 Winter # and use the number that corresponds with the list. (one will be created for each number on December 1, again, to try and minimize number of discussions) and post the book and title you read and rating, and review.
5. It is not required, but if you could post your review on the blog that would be great.
6. Reviews on the blog please include labels list the rating, author, and # of challenge only.
7. Audio books are okay
8. Rereads are okay
9. You can change your list at anytime

Challenge Details

1. The All About the Brontes challenge will run from January 1st to June 30, 2010. You can post a review before this date if you wish.

2. You can read a book, watch a movie, listen to an audiobook, anything Bronte related that you would like. Reading, watching, or listening to a favorite Bronte related item again for the second, third, or more time is also allowed.

3. The goal will be to read, watch, listen, to 3 to 6 (or beyond) anything Bronte items.


Goal is 6 items:

1-Tried to watch the version of Jane Eyre with George C. Scott-it was terrible! Scott was a WEIRD choice for Rochester:(

So here's how it works: Between January 1 and December 31, 2010, read one book in each of the following categories:he book titles are just suggestions, you can read whatever book you want to fit the category.

Unfinished-RYOB Challenge 2010


I was in this challenge last year though I only met 57 books of my 100 books goal. I think I will make my goal a bit more attainable for me at 70 books this year. Hope I can do it!

Harlequin/Silhouette Book Challenge 2010

2) All of the books must be from the Harlequin family of imprints

3) Read one book for each requirement


Requirements:
1)
Read 1 book with a weather condition in the title (i.e. storm, rain, snow)



2) Read 1 book with a person's name in the title (i.e. Mary, John)


3) Read 1 book with a title in the title (i.e. King, Prince, Princess, Sheik)


4) Read 1 book with a color in the title (i.e. red, blue, white)


5) Read 1 book by an author whose last name begins with the letter "R"


6) Read 1 book with an element in the title (earth, water, fire, air, spirit)

Other information:
1) Please join the challenge by commenting with a link to your post (I'll start a participant blog roll)

A list is not necessary and may be changed at any time

2010 Fantasy Reading Challenge


Another good challenge the ladies at Royal Reviews are hosting. I think I'm going to try for 12 "addicted" books. Join HERE.







The Fantasy Reading Challenge can include YA Fantasy or Historical Fantasy, Science Fiction Fantasy or any other sub genre of Fantasy. There really are no limits to this challenge as Fantasy is such a wide and varied genre. Just enjoy and have fun! I'm planning on reading the Katherine Kerr Deverry series if anyone would like to join me in a read along.

  1. The goal of this challenge is to read the number of books first published in a given year that corresponds to the last digit of each year in the 2000s — 10 books from 2010, 9 books from 2009, 8 books from 2008, etc. The total number of books required, therefore, is 55.
  2. This challenge lasts from 9/9/09 through 10/10/10.
  3. Crossovers with other challenges are allowed and your lists may change at any time.
  4. Sign up using Mr. Linky.
  5. Have fun reading!
